Blue Forty is a full-service architectural firm with projects ranging from small scale products to urban scale infrastructure. “Blue Forty” is a nod to the founder’s family air conditioning business. A “blue collar” industry with forty hour work weeks. The team consists of adventurers and thrill seekers that love their home base in Oregon. Ralph Buenconsejo and I were asked to design a visual identity and website that differentiates Blue Forty from its corporate competitors in the architecture industry while remaining professional. Our solution was to create a brand identity that represented their work hard, play hard attitude that separated them from the corporate standard. The logo is inspired by a blue collar worker’s name stitched on classic work shirts. The interactive website embodies playfulness and professionalism with motion and clean UX/UI design.
